Centrex 1000 series units are designed primarily for light to medium seasonal use where the compost drum has the capacity to hold all the compost for a full season. This means that compost will normally only need to be removed annually at the beginning of the following season.

The Centrex 1000 units are available in either electric or non-electric versions. Both are designed for use with a 1 pint toilet (purchased separately), but the Centrex 1000 series is not available for use with dry toilets. As with other Central units the Centrex 1000 units features a waste inlet door on the left of the drum (facing the unit) and a separate output door on the right. Compost is extracted by releasing the drum lock, rotating the drum backwards, and dropping compost into the finishing drawer at the bottom right of the unit. The unit is supplied with a 1"drain hose which should be connected to the 1" drain at the bottom left of the unit.

We have two methods for you to select a SUN-MAR Centrex 1000 unit. If you know what you want already, please click on the model name below. Otherwise, please follow our easy question process that will lead you to the model that is most suitable for your needs.

QUESTION - What are my electrical requirements?

Note the following points before deciding:

You have already specified your capacity as being no more than 5 adults or families of 7 for weekend/seasonal use. The Centrex 1000 family is not recommended for residential use. Please visit our Centrex 2000 page if your capacity is higher than that specified above, or you are planning on using the unit residentially.

Do I have...

A continuous 110 volt power supply? If so, we suggest our Centrex 1000.

No 110 volt power supply? If so, we suggest our Centrex 1000 NE.

If you have an intermittent flow or plan to obtain electricity in the future, we suggest our Centrex 1000 AC/DC
